The design standard for developing an improved transit network is to design a safe transportation system that encourages walking, biking, mass transit and connects residential, commercial and retail areas.
The major goal is to create a network whereby residents have other options than their automobiles to shop and commute. The project seeks to provide links to the Metro system and Great Rivers Greenway's biking/walking system throughout to aid in access to and from the entire metropolitan area. In addition, depending on support and funding, McEagle seeks to help provide a trolley system that will shuttle individuals throughout the development area.
By project completion McEagle hopes to see improvements in the following targets:
- % of homes within a 15 minute walk to mass transit
- % of jobs within a 7-10 minute walk to mass transit
- % of residents able to walk to work
