As previously mentioned in our history section, Metropolitan Sewer District still struggles with the functionality of the current combined storm and sanitary sewer system. The ideal solution to this problem is to construct a completely separate sanitary sewer system and use the existing system for storm sewers only. Due to the time and cost involved in implementing an infrastructure project of this scale; other solutions are also proposed to reduce the load on the existing system such as implementing the following stormwater management systems:
