McEagle recognizes that one of the most important elements of a successful, walkable community is the inclusion and connection of parks and open spaces. McEagle has based the development plan on this important principle and strives to develop an open space network that will encourage people to come out of their homes and interact with their neighbors. A variety of different scales of parks is important, from small neighborhood parks to linear connector parks to parks able to host community events; as well as a variety of park uses including playgrounds, active and passive recreation, community gardens, and usable water quality areas.
In addition, an important element is to make the entire development aesthetically pleasing by incorporating trees and plants to help enhance the look and feel of the area.
