The NorthSide vision for parks includes a variety of sizes and uses designed to provide new and interesting amenities and destinations for community members and visitors.
Community: largest of the parks and incorporate multiple uses including sports fields, play areas, stormwater treatment, productive landscapes, cultural facilities, pavilions, water features and wind farms
Cultivation: emphasize stormwater treatment and productive landscapes (urban agriculture / tree farms / plant nurseries / ornamental gardens) while also offering play areas, pavilions and cultural facilities
Neighborhood: provide the immediate neighborhood with basic recreation and play areas
Eco-parks: attribute for 5% of the total land area as a part of the larger stormwater treatment network and also provide for gardens and sitting areas
Linear: provide connectivity and stormwater treatment
